How it all began: Wave Energy Conversion
SINN Power's leading role in the field of floating renewable enery platforms is based on their pioneer research of wave energy conversion.
In 2015, the company started implementing und testing their in-house developed wave energy converter modules at the breakwater wall in Heraklion, Greece.
The goal of this research project was to test the electrical interconnection of several generators of the wave energy modules. The challenge was to translate the irregular oscillation motion of the waves into grid-compliant electrical current.

With this revolutionary approach, SINN Power recieved a 1 Million Euro grant from the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy (BMWK).
Within the following years, SINN Power developed a series of floating renewable energy platforms - based on its vast experience of maritime environments due to the extensive research in the field of wave energy conversion.
Today, SINN Power is one of the world's leading companies for floating renewable energy platforms.
The principle is easy: Through the up-and-down movements of the waves, the attached floating bodies of each module set a lifting rod in motion. As a result of the friction, all attached generators produce electricity.
