Dr. Dirk Stenkamp, Chairman of TÜV Nord AG and one of the 120 prominent partners of the Awards, describes the GreenTec Awards as “the Oscar for sustainable innovations.” Since 2007, they have become the world’s largest environmental awards.
You can vote for SINN Power in two categories:
Category “Sustainable Development”: Supplying an organic shrimp farm with 100% renewable energy
SINN Power was nominated for its project on Cape Verde where an organic shrimp farm will be powered by 100% renewable energy. The project will reduce the massive diesel imports to the islands and will create around 60 new jobs.
Category “Start-up”: SINN Power as pioneers in making ocean waves the renewable energy of the future
In the category start-up, SINN Power’s concept stands out as highly scalable: As nearly 60% of the whole world population are living within 80 kilometers of the coast, they all could use the power of waves to generate electricity.
SINN Power’s team of currently more than 25 felt extremely honored when they learned they were among the TOP 10 in two categories.
"We are pioneers in wave energy and that is not always easy. But we have come so far in only 3 years.”, SINN Power CEO Philipp Sinn says. “Winning the GreenTec Awards 2018 would give a huge push to the team and motivate us further for the development of a new alternative renewable energy source.”
