EXCLUSIVE: PV Investment Koblenz 1.09 MWp photovoltaic power & 410 kWh battery storage At the Kalzip GmbH site in Koblenz, SINN Power has a fully approved and ready-to-build rooftop photovoltaic project. With an installed capacity of 1,086 kWp (875 kW AC) and a 410 kWh (250 kW) battery storage system, an efficient power supply is being implemented directly at the industrial site. The revenue structure is secured in the long term: A power purchase agreement (PPA) with the site user and the 20-year EEG remuneration for grid feed-in ensure predictable cash flows and reduce dependence on short-term market price fluctuations. The PV system is divided into seven technically separately measurable inverter units. Each unit represents 1/7 of the total system and constitutes an economically independent acquisition unit. Acquiring a unit entitles the holder to a proportional claim of 1/7 of the revenue from feed-in tariffs and power purchase agreements (PPAs), as well as the obligation to bear 1/7 of the operating costs. Acquiring multiple units is possible – up to and including the complete acquisition of all seven units. SINN Power will handle the turnkey implementation as well as the ongoing technical and commercial operation of the plant. By privileging agri-PV systems, the necessary legal framework is in place to advance the pioneering combination of energy production and agricultural use. The use of vertical, bifacial systems that are oriented east and west is particularly useful. They use little space and in periods of drought, slight shading can even lead to better yields. They also promote a more even use of the electricity grid, as they do not generate a midday peak like conventional solar modules, but rather supply electricity primarily in the morning and evening.
